The Jackson-Calhoun County CBC is centered just east of the town of Port Lavaca and Point Comfort. The circle includes bay and estuarine habitat along the Lavaca River and Carancuhua River watersheds as well as riparian areas along Cox Creek and Keller Creek. Good portions of the circle include pasture and crop land, some limited thorn scrub, and some feeder-watch opportunities in the town of Point Comfort. There should be good birding on the Formosa Plastics and ALCOA properties near Point Comfort and on the Tejano Wetland near La Ward.
