Goose Island still needs your help removing invasive Guineagrass to make way for native grasses and wildflowers! Guineagrass is a non-native, invasive grass that outcompetes native plants for critical resources like sunlight, water, and space. Join us for a volunteer workday (morning, really) to identify, dig up, and remove this invasive plant.
When: Saturday day, August 17, 2019, 8:30 – 10:00 am
Where: Goose Island State Park. Meet at the Rec Hall.
Bring:
- Work gloves
- Shovels
- Sun protection
- Insect repellent
- Drinking water and/or sports drinks
- Eye protection
- Lightweight pants & long sleeves
- Work boots or old tennis shoes
