Texas GLO Lunch and Learn

Thursday, April 21, 2022, 11:00 am.

Report as AT: Lecture Series presentation

Register to join the Texas General Land Office (GLO) on Thursday, April 21 from 11am-12pm for a virtual Lunch & Learn series from Clean Coast Texas to learn about sustainable stormwater management in coastal communities.

Texas coastal beaches are renowned for their wildlife and habitat, natural beauty, and, of course, great swimming! While they are wonderful places to enjoy hot summer days, coastal waters are sometimes high in pathogens that can cause illness related to contact recreation.

That is where Texas Beach Watch comes in, a GLO program that monitors the quality of our state’s coastal recreational waters for the presence of disease-causing pathogens to ensure that Texas’ beaches remain safe and clean.

Join GLO’s Lucy Flores, Project Manager, and Brian DeSanti, NOAA Coastal Management Fellow, to learn all about the Texas Beach Watch program, what to lookout for to stay safe at the beach, and how to stay informed about the water quality level at your favorite beaches.
